waiting for induction

So
Rob, my mom and I are here...all packed and ready to go! Just one thing...the hospital is not ready for us. We got here for our 5:30 induction of labor (because our little man is just a bit late and needs some help with getting the show on the road). It is now 9:30 pm and we are still waiting to be placed in a room. Whew...I am starting to get tired and they have not even done anything yet!
We all agree, it is a little like waiting for a delayed airplane, we have played some scrabble, eaten some food and are just hoping they don't cancel us!
Soon though, before we know our man will be here with us, patience

Baby Showers and Counting Down

Two weeks ago my friends Teresa, Ann and Betsy threw me one amazing baby shower. Friends and family from ALL over came and it was so meaningful to me to have those women around the celebrate the coming of this baby. Rob and I are very blessed. We recieved a number of fantastic gifts, ate LOADS of great food and even managed to play a few games without being to cheesy.
My due date is now ~1.5 weeks away...I am getting ready and the anticipation might kill me. I am so looking forward to meeting him.

35 weeks and I am "fair game"

or so my OB says...I am fair game, it is exciting. If the man were born today he won't have to go to the NICU! he is big enough to make it on his own, it is a mile stone for me (as a NICU nurse). His head is down and his feet are busy kicking my ribs, all is falling into place. I am full of excitment and just a tiny bit scared of the actual birth, but am pretty sure I can do it.

Nesting

It's true what they say, pregnant women near the end of the pregnancy start to have a strong urge to "nest". I have been wanting to nest like crazy! It is a little difficult though, as we are planning to move to Milwaukee 2 weeks after the little man is born and really our house is just becoming a sea of boxes and onsies.

I have been able to do things like, wash all the little boy clothes and organize them, thus fullfilling some of these needs to organize and clean like crazy.

I have also started to have the baby listen to classical music every night before bed. Judging by his activity level, he is a Mozart lover.

These weeks have been busy and exciting. My wonderful co-workers threw me a beautiful baby shower and it is safe to say the boy will be well dressed. So sweet.

the third trimester

Ahhh...I have made it to the third trimester! Though I am growing at a faster rate than I thought possible, I am feeling good and quite proud of how far my little man and I have come in these past 29 weeks. I just returned home from a long weekend in Florida, it was perfect, sunny and warm. I beached myself in a bikini and took naps, a pregnant girls dream come true. I am missing Rob though, he is in Germany right now with his family, and though that trip sounds amazing, the fact that the nausea/vomiting of the first trimester did return with travel makes me feel happy I chose Florida.
The next two and half months are sure to fly and I am so looking forward to meeting this little man face to face.

what to name the child?

So now that we know we are having a boy, the next question we most often recieve is of course, what will you name him? It is interesting though, because both Rob and I have found that really, when people ask you this, they are bit interested in what you think and a lot interetsed in their opinion of the name. So now when asked this questions, we most often reply with "We have a few names in mind...but are not sure. What names do YOU like?" And then the person will tell us their favorite names, and that is kind of fun because the more names we hear, the better idea we will have what to name him. Of course, when all is said and done, we probably won't name him until we see him. So far he kind of looks like skeletor and I am not sure how cool that name will be after the 3rd grade.
So with that...here is a list of the top 50 boy names of 2008, what do YOU think???

It's a BOY!

We had our ultrasound today and it's a boy! He looks healthy and allready weighs a whopping 14 ounces. Good boy. He was a little shy at first and it took a bit to figure out if it was going to be a boy or girl but in the end we managed to get this very personal ultrasound picture. I am sure when he is older he will love that I posted this on the internet.
We are so happy
